About the Work

Residue is a short drama about a relationship ending — two former lovers reuniting through the exchange of returned belongings, and everything that stirs up in the process. Written and directed by Kori Reay-Mackey, the film was built around emotional complexity within a deliberately simple narrative frame.

The film screened at several Western Australian festivals, including the inaugural WA Made Film Festival, and holds up exactly as intended — as something specific enough to feel personal and universal enough to land with strangers in a dark room.
